For this experience, as a small group we will read Remember by Joy Harjo (Mvskoke Nation) and art by Michaela Goade (Tlingit Nation). We will talk about what we gain from this book to help each other get ideas for their themed artwork and then create a work of art together. We find a theme in the book and reflect on our own experience and create art to show part of our lives to each other and ourselves. This can be an unconventional portrait of your family, unconventional portrait of your house or of an experience in your life that helps you remember where you came from.
