I’m a total newbie, I was looking for someone that has the patience and also an excellent amount of experience to handle someone who has two jobs and not an open schedule and Gabe is the one. He has shown such an incredible patience and loving attitude towards my slow progress that I don’t think other teachers have. Because of his vast knowledge and experience base, he is able to tailor his lessons to fit each individual student. I've been working with him for over a year and he has taken my voice to a place I never imagined it could go. A truly professional teacher and musician, he started with me on the nuts and bolts of breath, really focusing on the mechanics of how to make my voice work, and we've moved through pitch and tone and into truly filling each song with emotional intent and expression. I started out thinking I just wanted to be on key and not wear my voice out, but Gabe is pushing me to a level I didn't even understand there was. I had to unlearn all the bad habits I'd accrued over the years. He's been great at identifying the subtle modifications I need to make to really optimize my sound. I didn't think I'd ever really be successful at playing live, but I have a few times and have big plans for the future. I've also massively improved my studio cuts. I feel SO lucky I found him!
