Let's discover our own unique voices! Sound is so wonderful, and mysterious. Any sound created in nature has multiple different frequencies (pitches) sounding at the same time, whether birds chirping, a gust of wind, or a singer singing freely. With this concept in mind, we as singers can isolate one (or more) of those complementary pitches, and change it the way we change vowels in our words. This technique, known as overtone singing, teaches us plenty about vocal technique and control while enabling us to produce a sound that is so uniquely our own. Come on this journey with me, where students will learn to fall in love with the sounds that make their voice theirs.
