Learn and practice new art skills! From drawing faces and landscapes to folding Origami or learning about Color Theory and Art History, this fun course will explore a world of art. By exploring various topics in art, students hone drawing skills, are introduced to the art of different cultures, and create new artistic compositions. TOPICS: -THE ELEMENTS OF ART and THE PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN -ART HISTORY (Art & culture from around the world) -DRAWING -PAINTING -ORIGAMI -PHOTOGRAPHY -SCULPTURE -MIXED MEDIA​/​COLLAGE These goups classes will occur on Zoom and will contain a mixture of short slideshow presentations that will explore art history and​/​or art theory, fun warm-up activities, and a main project. I will introduce and model techniques to the students, providing them with basic guidelines and expectations, but give students the freedom and flexibility to create their artwork in their own unique and expressive way. Classes will be very interactive and hands-on. I will ask questions and offer students encouragement; however, students choose how much they wish to participate. I will not pressure a student to interact. I do not assign homework; however, while some students might complete a project within the timeframe of each class, other students may wish to continue with their project outside of the class. No prior experience is needed!
