Hello, I'm Sydney R.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Film & Television with a minor in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California, Sydney began her career working for TV Literary Partner Tim Phillips at United Talent Agency. After a year and a half at UTA, she joined the writers' rooms for one of the Game of Thrones spinoffs at HBO, followed by Dead to Me at Netflix, where she worked as a Writers' PA. She then spent two years working for Bryan Cogman during his overall deal at Amazon Studios, serving as both his Executive Assistant and Writers' Assistant on Lazarus. From there, she joined Daria Polatin as her Showrunner's Assistant on Netflix's Devil in Ohio before serving as Script Coordinator on season two of Hulu's Nine Perfect Strangers with Rachel Shukert. Most recently, she was the Writers' Assistant on Little Marvin's Bishop for Amazon MGM Studios, which premieres in the new year. In addition to her work in television, Sydney has over a decade of experience as an educator and currently works as an Educational Specialist for Thriving Learners and Tutor Me Education, supporting K–12 students through individualized instruction. When Sydney’s not writing horror films or animated and live-action comedies, she can usually be found performing (bad) stand-up, dominating at darts, archery, axe throwing, and billiards, snowboarding, disappearing down paranormal mystery rabbit holes, and​/​or obsessing over horoscopes. Her favorite party trick? Guessing people's zodiac signs (she has an 82% success rate).
