October Teen Creative Writing Workshop (Virtual on SAT)

Create and Publish Your Own Short Story (Ages 14–19) Calling all young storytellers! Join award-winning author Angela Shanté for a fun and interactive workshop where you’ll become the author of your very own short story. In this hands-on session, writers will learn the basics of storytelling, from crafting memorable characters to developing exciting plots. Through creative writing exercises and group activities, participants will unleash their imagination and bring their stories to life. But the fun doesn’t stop there! During this month-long workshop, students will have the exciting opportunity to meet some of Angela’s friends—other kidlit publishing professionals, including authors, editors, and illustrators. (Author events may take place during the week). By the end of the workshop, each writer will have a finished short story published online.
