In my class, your student will learn the basic of writing a story and turn it into a series of visual panels, organized rough thumbnail sketches called storyboards. As part of a studio's pre-production process, it's one of the most crucial steps to any project; filmmaking, 2D & 3D animation​/​game design, book illustration, motion design, etc. You'll creatively strategize what your scene(s) will look like, and I'll base my teaching around what your child what's to produce, while also presenting my own examples along them. If this is your first time, or if you already have an idea but don't know how to act upon it yet, no worries. I'll be there every step of the way. *MENTAL NOTE: your narrative and storyboards can be continued as part of a personal project, keep on working if you like what you've made so far.

Experience subject

I'll teach at length the fundamentals of what goes into creating an amazing visual story. With the following being: - Story writing; the 4 core pillars of story structure and Freytag's Pyramid (understanding what makes a good narrative) - Character design; creating illustrations and references of what your fictional character(s) will look like - Storyboarding; you'll produce pages of paneled roughs that go based on what scene of your story you want to draw out in greater detail As weeks go on, critiques will be given and revisions will be made when appropriate. I will offer emails and​/​or demonstration videos if you're confused or have trouble. I'll share my email so we can communicate if needed.
