Developing Your Personal Voice and Vision Workshop

Developing Your Personal Voice and Vision Workshop

Every person has a unique perspective. Do you have a strong desire to share that perspective through your art work? This workshop experience for teens takes a look at ways to help develop your own personal voice and vision through your artistic expression. Our aims for the class are to look at the questions -What do you want to say? -Why do you want to say it? -How should you say it? -Who will you say it to? Whether you want to write, paint, draw, photograph, or use any other creative method, developing your personal voice and vision will help you to stand out and to make work that is meaningful to you. This, in turn, can help you to connect with others and find an audience. Regardless of your chosen medium, this class will be conducted through a combination of in-class discussions and activities alongside weekly assignments where we will: -Take a look at ways to understand your own ideas, thoughts, and feelings through self-reflection -Examine at existing works from a variety of sources to find and shape inspiration -Consider strategies for developing and improving new work -Refine conceptual ideas alongside style and technique -Explore ways to reach your audience All this work will help you hone your personal voice into something that not only reflects who you are, but also something you can share with the world.
