Hear It. Know It. Play It. is a private, one-hour ear-training session designed to help you understand music by listening—not just by looking at notes on a page. In this personalized one-on-one experience, we’ll work on recognizing and reproducing pitches, intervals, scales, chords, melodies, rhythms, and harmonic movement. Depending on your level, we can also explore singing pitches back accurately, identifying chord qualities, finding notes on your instrument by ear, melodic dictation, rhythm recognition, and learning songs without relying entirely on sheet music. I’ve made ear training a major part of my teaching approach for nearly 30 years because a strong musical ear affects everything: singing in tune, improvising, playing with other musicians, learning songs faster, writing music, and becoming a more confident performer. Every session is adapted to your current ability and musical goals. Beginners are welcome, and experienced musicians can work at a much more advanced level. No guessing. No generic exercises. We train your ears and build practical skills you can use immediately.

Experience subject

Because this is private rather than a group class, you can adjust the difficulty enormously. A younger child could do pitch matching and rhythm games, while an adult professional could work on advanced intervals, chord recognition, harmonic dictation, and transcription.
