Sailing Through Our Emotions

Most of the conflict that we experience as adults stems from not knowing how to handle certain emotions. We either ignore them, pay little attention to them or end up reacting in destructive ways because of them. What if we could teach our children basic emotional intelligence skills so that they can be better equipped to navigate life's obstacles? In this class, we will learn about basic emotions, like: fear, anger, sadness, and happiness. We'll talk about why it's important to pay attention to our feelings and what happens when we don't. We will also learn that none of these emotions are bad and that it's ok for us to feel whatever it is we are feeling, regardless of our age and whether we are boys or girls. Through movement, music, writing and/or drawing- I'll share some tools that we can use to constructively process emotions so that they don't end up blocking us or becoming harmful to us.
