1-on-1 Digital Photography Classes

Do you want to learn more about digital photography using either a DSLR or Mirrorless camera? Let me help! This class will work best for pre-teens and teens. In these 1-on-1 courses, I will get to know you to meet your individual needs and goals, and am happy to meet you at any level. Possible topics of study include: -Basics of Manual Exposure (Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO) -Lens Types and Choices -White Balance and Color Management -Composition and Framing -Lighting Basics -Developing your “eye” -Digital Processing and Editing +More! We will use a mix of examples, explanations, hands-on activities, demos, and a variety of other techniques based on student needs. Students must have their own camera and lens(es) for this course. Access to Adobe products (Lightroom, Bridge, Photoshop) is a plus, but not required.

Experience subject

I have over 17 years of experience as an artist and writer in both commercial and fine arts, with a background in photography, filmmaking and creative writing. I also over 9 years of teaching experience ranging from continuing education courses to bachelor and masters programs, both online and in-person. In my teaching experience, I have worked with students from a wide variety of creative backgrounds. My teaching credentials include the School of Visual Arts in New York City, the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I have taught a wide range of photography courses for students of all levels. In addition to my personal fine art practice, I also have 10 years of experience in commercial photography and retouching.

Time of Class

Classes are generally available to book between 1pm-4pm (Central time), Monday-Friday and 9am-1pm (Central time), Saturday and Sundays. All classes subject to availability.
