Hello, I'm Moriah B.

As a former academic and current small business owner of a holistic healing practice, I utilize numerous skills developed across various careers and professional certifications to help people heal themselves. My first jobs supporting myself through college were in the restaurant industry, in-home care, financial advisory transcriptions, and tutoring. Various careers is maybe a bit of an understatement for what ultimately was a span of 4 years. By the time I had my Bachelor's degree from New College of Florida [the honors college for the entire state], I also had experience in customer service, finance, and education--all of which honed a myriad of professional skills. From that point, I decided to learn a skilled trade to more easily support myself through graduate study and I enrolled at the Florida School of Massage where I certified in Massage & Hydrotherapy. I've been running my own massage therapy practice since 2015 which, along with teaching college courses, supported me through a Master's earned in 2020 from Georgia College and State University in English- Creative Writing with a focus in my first love: Poetry. While teaching and studying in Academia, I continued to earn additional professional certifications to support my growing massage business. I became a 500hr advanced certified yoga instructor and meditation instructor, as well as a Reiki Master. With 12 years of experience as a massage therapist, I've mastered multiple modalities with a specialized focus in Ashiatsu. Most recently, I've begun to teach massage therapy at technical trade schools which includes courses such as: Anatomy & Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology, Massage Theory & Technique, Ethics, Professionalism, and Supervised Clinical Practice. I am looking forward to continuing to expand as an educator, entrepreneur, and healing facilitator.
