Hello, I'm Kofoworola (Kay).
I am an interdisciplinary figurative painter, sound poet, and educator based in New England, USA. My creative vision is founded on a deep dedication to facilitating healing through the arts. My work explores human identity, psychological wellness, and the intersections of my Christian faith and cultural identity.I hold an MFA in Painting from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, alongside separate Bachelor’s degrees in both Fine Arts and Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. Combining my background in human biology with traditional studio training allows me to approach figurative painting with a unique, deeply informed perspective. 🎨 My Artistic Practice In my studio, my paintings engage not just the body, but the soul and the spirit. I am deeply moved by personal and relational subjects, and I use expressive realism to capture emotional experiences across different stages of life—from early childhood through adulthood. Beyond the two-dimensional canvas, I create immersive spaces through sound poetry and light installations to inspire trust, inner dialogue, and reflections on hope and resilience. 👩🎨 Mentoring with Me As your instructor on Wimzee, I bring my extensive technical knowledge of anatomy, color theory, value, and light directly to your screen. I know how frustrating oil painting can feel when colors turn muddy or likeness feels off. My goal is to provide a compassionate, technically rigorous space where you can master your materials, elevate your studio practice, and confidently find your unique artistic voice.
