Hello, I'm Montour.
Hi, I’m Montour. I’m a music producer, artist, creative mentor, and History student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. My background in music production, academic research, communication, and client-focused support helps me approach lessons with both creativity and structure. My music background began with nearly 10 years of piano lessons, starting when I was three years old. After that, I continued to develop my skills in digital music production, especially in FL Studio. I now create and release music as Montour and as part of the UK Garage/house duo Patina Patina, with music available on streaming platforms, including one song that has reached over 50,000 streams. As a History student, I have developed strong skills in research, writing, analysis, organization, and the clear explanation of complex ideas. My academic experience has carried directly into how I teach music production. I focus on breaking down complicated topics into manageable steps, helping students understand not only what to do in a DAW but also why certain creative and technical choices work. I have experience with FL Studio, BandLab, GarageBand; mixing, mastering, vocal production, songwriting, MIDI writing, song arrangement, sound selection, and drum programming; and beginner-friendly music theory instruction. I also bring professional skills in communication, customer service, time management, problem-solving, and client support. My goal as a mentor is to create a comfortable, supportive lesson environment where students can build confidence, develop their own sound, and turn creative ideas into finished music.
