Hello, I'm Maggie.

Maggie or Miss. Maggie, as many of my past students know me, here! She/Her/Hers. A dog, cat, and duck mom, I've spent 20+ years (and counting) as a professional theatre practitioner; working as teaching artist, director and stage manager. I hold an MFA in Theatre Directing from Essex University (London, UK) and a BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Platz (NY) and I am a proud member of the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society as well as Actors' Equity Association. As a drama teacher/teaching artist, I've worked with youth from elementary school to college. As a director and stage manager I've worked with youth to adults. I'm an all around goofy CharACTer who loves providing space and insight for anyone taking on a new role - be it for an audition, a play/musical they've been cast in, to question the world around them, to be more comfortable speaking in public, or just for fun! What a gift it is helping folks to understand and build up their personal charACTer (finding and being comfortable with exactly who they are), while creating the charACTer in the script, helping them shine. Additionally, I spent the past fourteen(+) years working as the Associate Artistic Director for Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, NY where (among other things) I managed the Theatre For Young Audiences in-school touring program as well as the theatre's Summer Stage Young Acting Company and Young Playwright Contest. I love crafting (and do some sort of artsy/crafty thing every day); photography (my social media's can attest to that - especially pics of my dog, Hofbräu); cooking and reading and...so much more! I believe theatre, and all art forms, have the power to transform individuals and communities by creating spaces for authentic human connection, challenging perspectives, and celebrating diverse voices. I look forward to working with you/your kiddos! ~Maggie
