Hello, I'm Katie B.

Hello! My name is Katie. I am an after-school elementary art teacher from the San Francisco Bay Area. I have worked at Creatif Art Studio in Pleasanton for 3 years, teaching painting, drawing, and clay sculpting, and recently decided to pave my own path with Wimzee before starting at UC Santa Cruz in the Fall! I am dedicated to learning about art and sharing my knowledge with others, especially kids, because they always have new questions that push me to become a better teacher and artist. I am always looking for innovative ways to express my own creativity and teach others to express theirs, which is why I love drawing on real-world references and turning them into something new, like fantasy creatures. I think this approach makes art less intimidating, more fun, and pushes kids to use their imagination and creative thinking. I hope to see you at one of my class experiences. Thanks!
