I established my business, Poetic Perspectives- Bridges, as a means to harness the power of poetry, which has been instrumental in helping me find my voice and navigate the world as a Black autistic woman. There are pervasive misconceptions regarding how autistic individuals, particularly Black autistic women, should act to earn acceptance and respect. It is crucial to shine a light on the cultural impacts affecting these individuals, as well as those from diverse backgrounds. These perspectives are frequently neglected in conversations about autism. Through my art, I aim to bridge this gap, fostering understanding and appreciation for the varied experiences within the autistic community.
