Hello, I'm Acting Coach Claire.

Hello! I’m Claire, a Juilliard-trained actor, singer, and coach with over 25 years of professional experience in theatre, film, and television. I’ve performed with internationally renowned companies including the Stratford Festival of Canada, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., among many others. Over the past seven years, I’ve also worked as a coach and mentor, helping people of all ages develop confidence, creativity, presence, and authentic self-expression. I especially love working with children and young people, creating a supportive environment where they can feel safe to explore, imagine, take risks, and grow. My approach to acting is warm, encouraging, and deeply individualized. Whether a student is shy and looking to build confidence, curious about acting for the first time, or already interested in theatre, film, or voice acting, I meet them where they are and help them develop at their own pace. Lessons may include: • Acting basics for beginners • Monologues and scene work • Voice and stage presence • Imagination and emotional connection • Confidence and self-expression • Audition preparation • Shakespeare and classical text (for more advanced students) • Public speaking and communication skills I believe acting is about much more than “pretending.” It’s about learning to connect more deeply to yourself, your imagination, and your ability to communicate truthfully and confidently from an authentic place. My sessions are engaging, encouraging, and adapted to each student’s personality and goals. I work with both children and adults, and I strive to create a space where students feel supported, inspired, and free to discover their unique voice. In a first session, we’ll get to know each other, explore the student’s interests and goals, and try a few simple exercises or pieces together in a relaxed and positive atmosphere.
