Hello, I'm Makayla.

I’m a writer, bookseller, and recent MFA graduate from Drexel University’s Creative Writing program. I love storytelling in all forms, especially speculative, paranormal, and character-driven fiction that mixes humor, emotion, and imagination. Alongside writing my novel Forever Resting, I’ve spent years working in bookselling, where I enjoy helping readers discover stories that stay with them long after they finish the last page. My writing has also appeared in Oh Reader magazine. I created my classes to help young writers feel excited about creativity and confident in their own ideas. I especially love teaching worldbuilding, character creation, dialogue, fantasy and paranormal fiction, and storytelling inspired by video games, books, and pop culture. My goal is to make writing feel fun, approachable, and inspiring for every student.
