Hello, I'm Mary Beggs.
I’m Mary Beggs—parent, educator, writer, and a fiercely unapologetic misfit who has never learned to dim her light. For 26 years, I’ve stood at the front of classrooms not just to teach, but to ignite, to awaken, to champion the brilliance in every student who dared to walk through my door. For more than two decades, I’ve also guided adults—helping them rediscover courage, purpose, and the voices they thought they’d lost. My love affair with teaching didn’t begin quietly—it sparked, electric and unforgettable, in second grade. One extraordinary teacher transformed our classroom into a living, breathing stage, and suddenly we weren’t just students—we were performers, dreamers, storytellers, singing “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” with unrestrained joy. In that moment, something inside me lit up—and it never went out. That spark became a calling, and over time, it deepened into something even more powerful: a life where I didn’t just teach creativity—I lived it, pouring heart and soul into writing with fierce intention and exhilaration. Then my world expanded in the most profound, soul-stretching way imaginable when I welcomed an adopted sibling group of three into my heart. Love became louder, deeper, more demanding—and infinitely more beautiful. Today, I stand here with a fire in my chest and a mission that feels urgent and alive: to help young people claim their voices, to rise into their truth, and to carve their own unapologetic paths. Especially the ones who feel different. The ones who feel too much, think too boldly, dream too wildly. The ones who feel singular, surprising, gloriously out of step—just like I did. Because those are the voices the world is aching to hear.
