Hello, I'm Chiara M. N..

Hello! My name is Chiara (pronounced like "tiara" with a "k"). I'm a creative writer who works across various platforms, from poetry and fiction to script and screenwriting. Talking to people can be difficult at times, especially as an introvert. I use the written language to communicate with others and share what I think is important (regarding societal issues, mental health advocacy, and other topics). I have written dozens of poems, 2.5 books, a few plays of varying lengths, and am actively writing two full-length musicals. Many of these projects were started years ago when I was a teenager (or even before), and it has been thrilling to go back and revise after formal training in recent years. I hold a Bachelor's in Writing and Psychology from Grand Valley State University and an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU Tisch. I am grateful to have learned from incredible professors and mentors, and hope to pass down some of the skills and advice I've received to other young and​/​or aspiring writers. I love teaching this craft because everyone approaches it differently -- and that's wonderful! My goal is to help you understand the foundations of your craft, including strong storytelling, character development, and use of language. I work with each person on an individualized basis to help you better understand your craft in a way that, quite simply, makes sense to you so you can apply what you've learned to current and future projects.
