Community Project Planning for Teen Leaders
Great leadership is about having a big heart and a strategic plan. In this interactive group workshop, teens move beyond basic volunteering to become true social architects. Students will collaborate with peers to design comprehensive community service initiatives from the ground up. Using professional strategic frameworks, they will look past good intentions to analyze a project through the lens of resource data and risk mitigation. Whether they choose to execute their project later or save it as a standout portfolio piece, they will master the art of advanced systems thinking. Weekly Milestones > WEEK 1 | Need Mapping & Resource Inputs: Researching a local community gap and identifying the exact resources, partnerships, and materials needed to address it. > WEEK 2 | Outcomes & Logic Models: Translating an idea into a measurable framework, distinguishing between short-term outputs and long-term systemic change. > WEEK 3 | Roadblocks & Risks: Playing devil's advocate against their own designs. Teens analyze potential operational roadblocks and evaluate the unintended consequences of their plans. > WEEK 4 |The Final Blueprint Pitch: Packaging their research, logic models, and risk-mitigation strategies into a professional-grade strategic proposal to pitch to the group. Teens will develop advanced executive functioning skills: systems thinking, resource allocation, risk management, and collaborative feedback. They will leave with the mindset of a responsible, strategic leader.
